• A Message Handling Service - which enables reliable messaging through ebXML and synchronous messaging via SOAP.
• A Message Building Service - that builds and reads messages and interfaces with existing systems.

The modular format provides scalability which in turn ensures resilience.

Each layer of functionality can be horizontally scaled to cover the required load while providing failover capabilities.
